Word Bubbles

Words float up the screen as bubbles — type them fast to pop them before they escape. The pace increases as your streak grows. Word Bubbles is the most fun way to build raw reaction speed and word recognition.

How to play Word Bubbles

Words drift upward from the bottom of the screen as colored bubbles. Type any visible word and its bubble pops, scoring points proportional to bubble size and ceiling distance. A bubble that touches the top of the screen costs you a life — three escaped bubbles ends the run. Difficulty ramps with score: bubbles arrive faster, words get longer, and at high scores rare bonus bubbles with multi-word phrases appear. Build a streak of consecutive pops without misses to activate the combo multiplier; one wrong keystroke breaks the streak but doesn't cost a life.

Strategy & tips

The instinct to prioritize the highest bubble (about to escape) is usually wrong because the longest words also tend to take the longest. Better play: pop the shortest visible word first to free your eyes, then catch the threatening bubble. Most high-scoring runs use peripheral-vision word recognition rather than active reading — train this by deliberately not looking directly at any one bubble, just letting words register in your wider field of view. Difficulty caps at level 12, after which the run becomes purely about endurance; players past 100 WPM can sustain that level for 5+ minutes with practiced eye-scan technique.
