Precision Drill
Precision Drill analyses your key-level error rate and generates targeted drills for your weakest fingers and key combinations. After each session, a heatmap shows exactly where your accuracy breaks down so you know exactly what to fix.

How to play Precision Drill
On your first run, type a baseline 90-second passage that samples every key and common bigram. Precision Drill records per-key error rate and produces a heatmap showing each finger's accuracy band. The generator then composes a custom drill text that over-represents the keys you got wrong: if you missed P 8% of the time and W 6%, your drill will have ~3× the usual frequency of P and ~2× of W. Each drill is 60-90 seconds. After three drills the heatmap updates, weak keys shift, and the generator produces new drills targeting your new weakest spots.
Strategy & tips
Most plateaus aren't speed problems — they're accuracy problems hiding inside high WPM. A typist averaging 70 WPM at 94% accuracy is essentially the same speed as 65 WPM at 99% once corrections are counted, but the 94% typist will hit a hard ceiling because every error costs ~2 seconds while a clean keystroke costs ~0.2. Precision Drill targets that exact dynamic. Use it three times a week, not daily — the heatmap needs fresh data to find new weaknesses, and same-day repeated drilling on the same key teaches your fingers a workaround rather than fixing the underlying mistake. Pair with the touch-typing accuracy test for verification.
